Cambridge and Camden

HelloHello

I have been quite busy as of late with work, travelling and getting to know everyone at the Green Man, so my apologies for the lack of posts. Over the last month I have worked insane match days with over 2000 people in the pub, traveled to Cambridge and did some trendy parts of London - my favourite being Camden Town.

Camden
Camden is super cool.  It's full of tons of markets that have everything from Chinese food for 3 pounds to jewelry and clothes to used books.  A lot of pubs and live music as well. The best word I can think of to describe it is Indie.  So that's where we went on Saturday (a rare day to have off work!).  I went with a couple of the regulars from the Green Man and we spent the day eating, drinking and listening to some pretty decent music.  It was really quite lovely. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera so there are no pictures.

Cambridge
I have lots of pictures of Cambridge.  It's a very lovely little University town.  Had a great time while I was there, did a walking tour and had a pint in a famous pub.

Darwin's Garden in Christ's College - that's him sitting on the bench there

Fellows pool! Haha

Nice little garden path in Christ's College

Kings College, one of the biggest Colleges in Cambridge

Kings college, that's the church

Laboratory of physical chemistry - DNA was discovered at Cambridge

This used to be the main street in Cambridge - it still has all the original buildings

Queen's college - one of the oldest colleges

Queen's college.  My favourite of the colleges I saw

The river behind the school - this part of Cambridge is called "The Backs"

Mathematical Bridge - there is a myth that the bridge used to be made without bolts but students got drunk and took it apart and then couldn't figure out how to put it back.

The Backs, some sweet boats.

Ede and Ravenscroft Robe Makers - this is where the students get their robes for graduation.  There are some pretty expensive looking suits in the windows.
Cool pub where I had a drink

Toots - the cat that came with the apartment

Other than that.. the weather has been pretty crappy here.  It has literally rained most of the day for the last week and the forecast says rain all next week as well.  Which means that work is really slow, since apparently people would rather stay home when it's raining. May 5th is the FA cup which is apparently a big deal here so that'll be fun for us, big event at the bar.

I am thinking of everyone at home and sending my love
xx
